CEO of French luxury-goods group pledges $110 million to assist rebuild Notre Dame

, the French-based luxurious group behind Gucci, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent and different world-renowned manufacturers — has pledged over $110 million in the direction of the rebuilding of the Notre Dame cathedral.

Pinault, who’s married to actress Salma Hayek, stated in an announcement that he plans to pay by means of his household’s funding agency, Artemis, for any work that must be carried out following Monday’s catastrophic fireplace, based on AFP.

The billionaire reportedly pledged 100 million euros, or $113 million. He hopes that the cash will assist church officers “fully rebuild Notre Dame.” French president Emmanuel Macron had vowed to take action earlier within the day.

“We’ll rebuild Notre Dame as a result of it’s what the French anticipate,” Macron stated, calling it “the epicenter” of their lives.

“It’s what our historical past deserves,” he added. “It’s, within the deepest sense, our future.
